Chef

Born in Naples in 1977 to parents from Castelvetere sul Calore (AV), Gianluca D'Agostino took his first steps in the best taverns of Irpinia, then in Rome, in the kitchens of Angelo Troiani and Fabio Baldassarre, cultivating talent and passion.

Locanda Locatelli in London, Alkimia e Coure in Barcelona, Don Alfonso 1890 and, finally, Veritas Restaurant in Naples, where he was awarded a Michelin star in 2016. Travelling around Europe, between commitment and gastronomic research, Chef D'Agostino develops an original approach that borrows truth from memory, defining a decidedly contemporary stylistic signature that focuses on the purity of flavours and the exaltation of raw materials, interpreted in their essence.

Year after year, tirelessly, he records in the room desires and expectations that shape a vision, a shared dream of informal but rigorous conviviality: an informal, welcoming, vivid space that looks to Europe and the social and cultural value of good food.

In 2024, JOCA was born, a restaurant and tapas bar in the heart of Chiaia, between historic boutiques and artisan workshops, a multifaceted project in the making, combining fine dining and family memories, cocktails and champagne, 'natural' wines and great traditional labels.
